Inge Jonckheere brings more than 25 years of international experience in Remote sensing, Earth Observation, Climate Science, Natural resource management, and Sustainable development. 

Before joining ESA in 2024, for 15 years she led the Satellite Land Monitoring Systems team in the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations (UN), supporting countries worldwide in the use of Earth observation for climate, land- and forest monitoring. Inge Jonckheere is an IPCC Lead Author since 2019, she serves as a UNFCCC greenhouse-gas expert reviewer for Belgium since 2013.
